A company operating within Erciyes Technopark in Kayseri has produced an "oral irrigator" used for oral and dental health.

The company's chairman, dentist İlhan Karacalar, stated that the device, known as an "oral irrigator," has become widespread globally. He emphasized that they are the first to produce this device in Turkey and recommended its use, especially for individuals with implants, hybrid, or bridge prostheses.

Karacalar highlighted that the device operates with water and has a battery life of up to 30 days.

Mass Production Initiated

Karacalar mentioned that they identified a gap in this field and decided to produce the device domestically to prevent foreign exchange outflow. He noted that a manufacturer in China produces 400,000 units monthly for global distribution. With a team of 10, they have obtained design, registration, and CE certification and have commenced mass production. Their goal is not only to sell in Turkey but also to export to other countries.

He pointed out that the device eliminates the need for dental floss, as it massages the gums and uses pressurized water, thereby maintaining gum health. Karacalar stated that dental floss can cause irritation and bleeding, whereas the oral irrigator effectively cleans food residues between teeth without such issues.

Investment of 10 Million Lira

Karacalar expressed their ambition to become a significant player in the global market. He mentioned that the device comprises 28-30 parts, and with R&D, production, and sourcing from various suppliers, they have invested 10 million lira. He emphasized that they have developed everything themselves, resulting in a completely domestic product.

He added that they plan to showcase their product at an upcoming fair and anticipate receiving substantial orders. During their previous participation, they received positive feedback from abroad, particularly from the Turkic Republics, Russia, and the Middle East, where companies expressed a preference for Turkish-made products.
